In no particular order, here are my top 15 books of the year. Over the year, I read 90 books, and quite a lot of them were five star reads, so it was no mean feat to whittle down to a list of 15. But here it is, the favourites of the favourites. All titles link back to my reviews.
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
The Seven Skins of Esther Wilding by Holly Ringland
The Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley
I’m Sorry You Feel That Way by Rebecca Wait
The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell
There’s Been a Little Incident by Alice Ryan
The Making of Her by Bernadette Jiwa
Bloomsbury Girls by Natalie Jenner

So many wonderful books to add to my TBR. I haven’t read any of these.

I’ve got The Marriage Portrait on the TBR, I think I bought it after your review, and Trespasses and Sea of Tranquility are on my wishlist. (I could get them from the library, but I don’t want a great flood of book reservations to land at the same time.)

All good reads!! Trespasses was particularly good, but I am partial to a Northern Ireland setting.

I’ve read a few of them. I’ve heard good things about ‘Horse’ so I’d best put that on my list! Thanks for your year of reviewing. Happy New Year to you.

French Braid also made my list, but sadly, The Marriage Portrait only got 4.75/5 stars and didn’t make the 5/5 cut! Still, it was excellent.

I have a couple of these in my reading stack.
When Horse was published I wasn’t drawn to it. It popped up frequently in favourites lists and then when I was at the bookshop a few days ago, choosing my summer reading, another customer sang its praises! Might need to have another look 🙂

I wasn’t too sure at first and my review copy sat there for a far while. But then reviews began popping up and I became intrigued. Definitely a surprise for me how much I loved it.

Happy new year, Theresa! Hope you (and Zeus) rang it in in style 🥳 Demon Copperhead made my list as well, one of the absolute stand-outs of 2022. And There’s Been A Little Incident is on my wishlist now, hoping to come across a copy sooner rather than later.
