It was fun… intelligent and nicely done. Good thing they said “based on” her book, because it isn’t really an accurate adaptation. But I liked it very much. Mind you, I’m not always thrilled with modern songs behind historical settings.

I hear what you say about interesting new audiences in the classics but I can’t be persuaded by the new Persuasion adaptation sorry. it just doesn’t feel like Austen’s work.

Heck YES! re: Persuasion. It was so much fun! A big boo to all the purist scolds who are shaming people for enjoying it. I quote Mary at least once a day now 😅 (yesterday, it was “I’m so close to death I can feel my organs decomposing”)
