Now, I’m not asking for confessions or anything, but I’ll just leave this here for contemplation…

Book of the week:

Joke of the week:

What I’ve been watching:
Finished seasons one and two and I’m now at the beginning episodes of season three. There’s a speculative aspect to this show that wasn’t apparent until the second season: parallel universes. When it comes to TV, I really do enjoy both time travel and parallel universes. I haven’t been as absorbed in such a complex show since 12 Monkeys. I’m loving it, there’s no room to drift while watching, you need to keep your eye and mind engaged with it at all times, which is something I really need right now.

I’m actually unapologetic about it! I do fold corners. I write in books. I highlight paragraphs. It’s how I show my love and engagement with them 🙂

I can’t even bring myself to crease the spine!

Me neither! And library users who turn corners over … well, words fail me.

Though the bookmarks people use and leave behind can be fascinating.

Tracey from Carpe Librum has a great instagram series where she pairs bookmarks with books.

Awww, thanks heaps for the shout out Theresa ❤ I have a great bookmark pairing for tomorrow's Bookmark Monday. I had the perfect bookmark when I was reading How To Break Up With Friends by Dr Hannah Korrel 😉

Tracey, I had no idea there were so many of you!

Oh no! I can’t fold corners, and I try very hard not to damage spines, but I do write in my books, a lot – but in pencil so that, theoretically, it can be erased!

I’ve never folded a corner ever and I hate it when you get a book that’s bound so stiff that you can’t avoid creasing the spine when reading it.

Me too … and my daughter too. Don’t you love a spine where the book just flops open in your hands? A thing of beauty!

Hey Theresa, if you like parallel universe plots, have you seen Counterpart? I really enjoyed that one!

No, I haven’t. Thanks for the suggestion. What network/service would I find it on?

I think we watched it on SBS so it might be available on SBS On Demand?

I love bookmarks, but I rarely use them these days, because I mostly read eBooks and audiobooks.

Ahhh, well they are certainly obsolete in that case. You can get some really lovely ones though.

There is a special circle of hell reserved for people who dog-ear books. Just finished The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida myself – it took a couple of strange turns, I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of it!

I’m about halfway, a bit over maybe. It’s an intriguing read so far.
