The Week That Was…

It’s been a whole week?! From the early morning hours on Sunday until about 3am on Wednesday morning, I was having a migraine episode, so the week has only been a half sized one for me this time around. Not much reading, some watching during lucid moments, and a whole lot of sleeping under the influence of pain killers (or trying to, anyway).

What I’ve been watching:

This took me back! Listened to with friends as it premiered around a fire sipping wine and reminiscing about the music.

You can watch it here if you missed it or just want to listen all over again.

I wrote about this a few days ago. TV series wins against the book in this case for me.

Find out why here.

I’m a few episodes into this. It’s strange but compelling. I like that in my TV viewing. I was a big fan of the original Penny Dreadful. This is nothing like that, but still worth watching. I’ll report back once I’m done. Hopefully by that stage I’ll understand why it’s been created as a Penny Dreadful spin off.

Beautiful photo of the week:

Look how much she loves her baby! ❤

Keeping warm:

Repurposing work uniforms that are no longer required…

No, she doesn’t work at Kmart but she’s mighty grateful for the cosy vest!

What I’m reading right now:

Until next week… 😊📚☕

  1. I feel for you! Migraines are the absolute worst and I’ve only had 2 in my life. I never improve until I throw up (so lovely haha) so it’s just a matter of waiting until that happens. They’re so debilitating & you basically can’t do anything until they’re gone. Hopefully you’re feeling much better now.

    • I’ve had lots of scans over the years, physiotherapy, tried all the oils that people claim work for them. Nothing helps. I am considering the botox therapy though as it’s supposed to have results. Depends on the cost though. Imagine paying thousands and it not making a difference. They usually last three days, I’ve had the odd one last five, but that’s rare. Once I feel one coming on, there’s not much I can do but bunker down and wait until it passes.

      • That is terrible! Mine were related to stress/trauma but my mother suffers from pretty regular chronic migraines and my brother gets them occasionally too. They are so awful. I can’t imagine what it’d be like to have that on a semi-regular basis. I’ve actually heard things about Botox treatment too, but yeah it’d be horrible to do it all and pay for it and have it not work at all, or barely make a difference.

      • I probably really need to ring my private health insurance and find out if they even cover it and how much they’ll give me back.
I’ve had them since I was in high school. My eldest son seems to be the same, unfortunately.

      • Definitely worth investigating! Seems that some cases definitely seem to be genetic…. my mum’s brother also gets them although his are triggered by oranges, chocolate or lack of sleep. He’s a doctor, so kind of hard to avoid that last one!
