This week has felt like three weeks long…that’s what happens when you’re in the last week of term. Those school holidays are so close, yet still so far away!

Book Bingo appeared on You Tube. I’ve gone on about this a fair bit since it happened last Friday night, but I’m still glowing from it.

After reading this review by Lisa at ANZ LitLovers LitBlog and loving the sound of the book, it turned up in my postbox this morning, sent for review by the publisher. Now that’s pretty great: as soon as I had decided to read it, it appeared!

Joke of the week:

I may have gone a tad overboard with NetGalley requests in the last week. I now have nine new titles to review. There are just so many good books being released of late!

Last year my daughter and I attended a live simulcast of Don Quixote, performed by the Italian Ballet – it was amazing! QPAC are bringing the international ballet to the remote corners of Queensland again with a live simulcast of Spartacus, performed by Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet. So excited! The performance is on July 6th in the evening. I’m sure I’ll be raving after.

No TV this week. I spent far too much time over the long weekend watching TV. This week I’m on a reading only diet. I’ll have plenty of time next week while on holidays to watch the latest Handmaid’s Tale and binge on the second season of Ekaterina.

Until next week…
Think of a book and it appears in the letter box; wish it worked like that at my house! I can’t wait to read your review of Invented Lives. I’ve been intrigued by the sound of it, especially after Lisa’s review. I think I might have go the ordinary way, and buy it from a bookshop …

This is the first time it’s happened but I’ll keep trying to use my mind power in case I get lucky again! 😁

Last week of school here too – my youngest has been off sick the whole week as well! He’d done so well until the final week, not getting sick or having any days off, etc. We are heading north tomorrow for 2 weeks to hopefully some warmer, sunnier weather and the chance to banish any little niggling ills! Not sure what it’ll mean for my reading time though.
Enjoy your holiday time!

My youngest has been off the last three days too, with a head cold. Enjoy the warmer weather! You’d think it would be easier to read while away on holidays but it doesn’t always work out that way.

How do you find time for so much reading — with kids too! I’m impressed.

Sometimes it’s tricky! But I read a lot at night and on weekends. I also don’t go out much and watch a limited amount of TV. Plus I love it, so I squeeze it in wherever I can! 😊

My kids still have a week left of school, this past term seems to have gone fast, I’m not prepared for holidays!

It has gone fast, I agree. But I’m always ready for holidays! 😁

We’re going to the simulcast of Spartacus too, here in Toowoomba, so I’ll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Last night I went to the QLD Ballet’s performance of Dangerous Liaisons as part of their regional tour. It was most…interesting!

Yes, hmm, it was somewhat more raunchy than I was expecting. Brilliantly performed but the story sits uneasily in these days. However, art is also meant to be challenging and provocative. I am still weighing up whether to post a review or not.
