#BookBingo – Round 2

Summer reading is doing wonders for my book bingo challenge. This round is another double one for me! And two squares from the same row as well!

Matryoshka by Katherine Johnson

Matryoshka ebbs and flows with pain and hope. Through its exploration of domestic violence, alcoholism, and the debilitating effects of loneliness, The Cottage at Rosella Cove is a deeply moving read, a joyful snapshot of human connection and the way people can save each other through kindness and empathy. Sandie has a deep understanding of contemporary social issues and she weaves these into her story with finesse. I highly recommend The Cottage at Rosella Cove.

  3. Hi Theresa, last year I printed off the bingo card thinking it would be a good challenge and that was as far as I got. This year I am attempting to actually cross off at least a few squares. Looking over the squares different titles from my TBR would spring to mind but I was stumped by the Australian Mountains square. Not anymore, so thank you. Matryoshka has been cropping up in a few different places so I’m pleased it might help me cross off at least one square! Happy Reading.

  4. I’m not going to do this with you as you go as I might have to tweak as the year wears on, but I’ve copied the list and will see how I go. I do have one of the harder ones – author under 35 (though under 35 is easier than under 30 as I’ve seen some times) with my latest book, Louise Mack’s Girls together. She was born in 1870, and the book was published in 1828. I may not comment every post, but I’ll be slotting in my books to see how I shape up at the end of the year.
